We’ve all been there. You drive into the city center—and as soon as you start looking for an open parking spot, things get stressful. A well-planned infrastructure is crucial to a city’s functioning.
In Switzerland, we’re fortunate that our infrastructure ranks very highly by global standards, but that’s no reason to rest on our laurels.
In the World Economic Forum’s country comparison, Switzerland ranks fourth worldwide with a rating of “Nearly Perfect.” This ranking can be misleading, as the infrastructure we use today was built up over many years through continuous investment.
We’re pleased that, through building surveys, we can help maintain existing infrastructure at a world-class level in many areas.
One example of this is our work on the Urania parking garage in Zurich, where we use 3D laser scanning technology to perform precise building surveys. The resulting point cloud data serves as the basis for the 3D CAD model, which in turn serves as the planning basis for future renovation projects.
