In Hirzel, we were commissioned to digitally capture a detached single-family home on a hillside and convert it into a precise 3D model of the existing structure. The building is characterised by its staggered topography, clearly structured volume and separate garage building – a typical situation in which classic planning documents quickly reach their limits.
The building was surveyed on site using 3D laser scanning. In addition, relevant heights, connections and terrain changes were recorded in order to map the complex hillside location cleanly and comprehensibly. Based on the point cloud, a detailed 3D as-built model was created in the CAD/BIM workflow. The model accurately depicts the actual conditions – including facades, roof shape, balconies, window openings and the terrain and surrounding area.
This creates a reliable planning basis that can be directly reused for conversion, renovation or extension projects.
