The building boom between 1960 and 2010 almost transformed the idyllic Stallikertal valley near Zurich into a city for 25,000 people. But despite wild speculation and plans to build over the entire valley, there were also voices of resistance.
Thanks to clever local planning in 1971, the pressure to build was controlled and Stallikon retained its rural charm. In the 1990s, the village experienced another building boom, but the authorities opted for harmonious development in order to preserve old buildings and blend in with the beautiful landscape.
Today, Stallikon remains a rural community with a diverse natural environment on its doorstep, which is protected for its scenic beauty.
One specific example is the renovation of a building, which we measured using laser scanners and modeled in a detailed 3D architectural model. This enabled precise planning and implementation of renovation work, allowing historical building fabric to be preserved and modern requirements to be met at the same time.
