The jewel of the Richterswil school buildings was first occupied by the upper school in 1915; since 1956, it has served as an elementary school—a building with over a century of history that is now undergoing extensive renovation.
Since no current and reliable plans were available, VDE used 3D laser scanning to fully document the school building and convert it into a precise 3D CAD model. This provided the planning team with a reliable digital foundation for the renovation for the first time—from the historic stairwell to the roof structures.
In this way, a building over a century old is being transformed into a solid foundation for the next chapter in its history.
