The Margarethen Artificial Ice Rink in Margarethenpark, located on the southern edge of the Gundeldinger quarter, is a historic skating facility that was originally built around 1933. Over time, the facility has evolved, and today it houses three ice fields, one of which is covered.
As part of the planned minimal renovation and repurposing of the popular facility for school sports and public skating, it was decided to use an efficient design tool. To facilitate the architectural team's work, we converted the existing 2D plans into an accurate 3D model.
The use of a 3D model offers numerous advantages for efficient planning of the renovation. It allows the architectural team to simulate different scenarios, identify potential challenges early on and make informed decisions.
