Premium BIM Model for Hotel Renovation | Hotel Scaletta S-chanf, GR

Historic buildings deserve a solid foundation for their future.

The historic Hotel Scaletta stood vacant for an extended period and is now being carefully renovated and revitalized.

The basis for this is an exact digital as-built survey. The laser scan was performed directly by the client. VDE then analyzed the point cloud and used it to create a deformation-accurate 3D ArchiCAD model in the Premium drawing standard.

The detailed as-built model serves as the foundation for architects and specialist planners and enables reliable planning of the renovation. Existing structures, deformations, and historical details are precisely documented and digitally represented.

This project demonstrates that laser scanning and scan-to-BIM are two distinct disciplines: While the quality of the scan is crucial, the professional interpretation and modeling of the millions of measurement points into a precise building model is equally important.
