Gottlieben is the smallest municipality in the canton of Thurgau - characterized by beautiful half-timbered houses from the 17th century right on the waterfront.

Building here means taking responsibility for a townscape that is second to none. Two existing buildings on Kirchstrasse are to be merged into one. It is precisely where two structures meet that the risk lies: jumps in height, wall offsets, connections that are not correct on any old plan.

VDE captured both buildings in their entirety using 3D laser scanning. The result: a high-precision 3D as-built model plus a complete 2D plan. The connection points between the houses are documented - before the first tradesman arrives on site.
