Survey of Historic Buildings in the Old Town | Spisergasse, St. Gallen

Spisergasse—a place steeped in history and architecture. The numerous bay windows bear witness to bygone eras, when the alley was still a major thoroughfare through the city. But today, Spisergasse has much more to offer—bustling shops, inviting cafés, and cozy garden restaurants.

And right in the middle of it all: a historic building that will soon undergo renovation. The main building and the smaller section in the inner courtyard were surveyed by VDE using a laser scanner to create detailed 2D plans from the data.

The next time you take a stroll down St. Gallen’s shopping street, it’s worth looking up—at the beautiful buildings on Spisergasse.
