The construction boom between 1960 and 2010 nearly transformed the idyllic Stallikon Valley near Zurich into a city for 25,000 people. But despite rampant speculation and plans to build over the entire valley, voices of resistance also began to emerge.

Thanks to wise local planning in 1971, development pressure was managed, and Stallikon retained its rural charm. In the 1990s, the village experienced another construction boom, but the authorities focused on harmonious development to preserve the historic buildings and blend them into the beautiful landscape.

Today, Stallikon remains a rural community with diverse natural surroundings right on its doorstep, which are protected for their scenic beauty.

A concrete example is the renovation of a building that we surveyed using laser scanners and modeled into a detailed 3D architectural model. This enabled precise planning and execution of renovation work, allowing the historic structure to be preserved while simultaneously meeting modern requirements.
