Background The apartment building in Meilen stands out for its classic architecture, striking hipped roof, and numerous architectural details. Particularly impressive is the roof area with its exposed wooden beam structure, which lends the interior a unique character. The well-maintained surroundings, with their green spaces and small garden pond, also contribute to the property’s overall appeal.

Challenge A particularchallengewas the detailed survey and modeling of the complex roof structure. The massive wooden beams, varying roof pitches, and numerous connections required careful analysis to represent the existing structures as realistically as possible in the 3D model. In addition, the building’s immediate surroundings had to be taken into account in order to depict not only the architecture but also the site conditions and characteristic outdoor areas.

Based on the site survey, VDE created a detailed 3D building model directly in Vectorworks, including laid-out 2D plans.

The result is a vivid and detailed digital representation of the apartment building that reflects both the architecture and the surroundings and provides a reliable basis for further planning.
