Great importance is placed on historic preservation in Switzerland, which is why VDE offers the “Historic Preservation” drawing standard. For this exciting and challenging project, the current condition—including all details and elements worthy of preservation—was captured using a 3D laser scanner.

The analysis process, developed in-house by VDE, makes it possible to evaluate these details from millions of data points with millimeter precision. The result meets the needs of the building owner, the architect, and the historic preservation authorities. The renovation was planned and carried out without endangering the elements worthy of preservation.
