In Ticino, we comprehensively surveyed an existing industrial building and created a 3D CAD/BIM as-built model that serves as a reliable basis for refurbishment and planning processes. Using terrestrial laser scanning, we captured the entire building, including all relevant structures and technical details.

VDE workflow

• On-site surveying - recording the industrial building with laser scanners.
• Registration of the point cloud - Merging all scans into a dense, precise point cloud.
• No classic cleansing - To avoid loss of information, we deliberately avoid manual data cleansing.
• Modeling - We use our tool to extract the breakage and component edges directly from the point cloud and automatically transfer them with maximum precision to the CAD/BIM system of your choice - Archicad in this project.

The result is a detailed, information-rich 3D BIM model that accurately reflects the real existing situation and optimally supports further digital processing for architecture, planning and execution.
