Villa Rosengarten, Richterswil – A Detailed Assessment of a Historic Landmark
Built in 1831, Villa Rosengarten has shaped the townscape of Richterswil for nearly two centuries. Today, it serves as a Reformed parish hall and is one of the municipality’s historically significant buildings.
To serve as the basis for future planning, VDE fully digitized the building using 3D laser scanning. This resulted in a deformation-compensated 3D ArchiCAD as-built model that precisely depicts the building’s actual condition, including all its structural features.
Particularly for historic structures, an accurate as-built survey forms the basis for well-informed planning decisions. The digital building model provides planning certainty for architects, specialist planners, and building owners, and supports the careful preservation of valuable historic building fabric.
In this way, modern surveying technology bridges the history of a building with the needs of future generations.
